This weekend after all the rain, my basement flooded about 6 inches. I've only been in this house a year. My husband bought this pump thing from Homedepot for about $100 and it took about 7 hours to drain. We just called our home owners insurance to see if they will cover anything that we lost. This is very stressful.
Anyone have any home remedies or reasonable priced ideas on waterproofing our basement?
***Update. My home owners insurance doesn't cover any leakage or flood from the weather***** Just freakin great!

Oh I am so sorry about your Ginene ((HUGS)) . What did the Insurance Company say? I would think they would cover something like that.
Thanks!
Well they are sending someone out. We can turn on our heat because the water got in the boiler or something down in the basement and we dont know if anything was grounded or still electrical. You know what I am trying to say.
Well I hope everything goes well and that they cover it! That is why you pay for Homeowners Insurance. I am sure they will though...
I am really sorry to hear of this unfortunate event. We got a lot of rain the DC area towards the end of last week and many area residents had to deal with flooding as well.
I will say a prayer for you and yours Ginene.
